Birmingham Children's Hospital

The Tara Group have been proud supporters of Birmingham Children's Hospital for many years.  We have held many fundraising events to help raise vital funds to ensure that children receive the best care possible, research continues to evolve and families have the support they need during the most challenging times.

Below are just a few of our fundraising events on behalf of the hospital:

  • To celebrate Keon Homes 5th anniversary, we launched our "5 for 5 initiative" - a campaign designed to raise funds for five charities close to the hearts of the Sweeney family and the Tara Group.  Charmaine Sweeney (Noel's eldest daughter) partnered with Birmingham Children's Hospital and courageously took on a Wing Walk challenge to help raise vital funds for the hospital.
  • A group of volunteers from across the group acted as bucket collectors at Derby County FC and engaged with fans during a home game.
  • A colleague from Cameron Homes embarked on a solo motorbike challenge from John O' Groats to Lands End.
  • A team of 17 colleagues from Keon Homes competed in the 2025 Dragon Boat Race on the canal next to The Mailbox, in the heart of Birmingham.

In addition to fundraising, we also volunteer at the hospital by supporting their Art Kart programme where our colleagues engage with the children and their families, by helping with arts and crafts activities on the wards.

I don’t even have the words to describe how amazing every single one of the volunteers were…I knew it was going to be an amazing Art Kart when they gladly put on their Santa hats in October!!!!

A huge thank you to Beth and Oli for being their silliest for the kids who enjoyed every moment of it, especially all the stickers that Oli handed out and Beth’s ability to get the kids to come out of their shell.

Similarly to Niamh and Paul, who were absolutely brilliant, when a mum needed a shoulder and an ear, they were both there to listen and empower her. We also met a young girl that was quite anxious about her visit, and they did so well to change her entire experience…like I said yesterday, I might have Paul on standby for all volunteering with the kids because he was fantastic.

Kind Regards,
Amaan Yasin, Corporate Partnerships Officer
