Our aim and impact

Our aim is to create a positive and lasting legacy within the communities we serve.

Who we support

Our focus is on supporting projects and initiatives that benefit:

  • Children and young people
  • Individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • People who are disadvantaged or disabled

"Disadvantaged" includes those facing poverty, victims of abuse, those who are bereaved, and individuals who are currently in or leaving the care system.

We are committed to supporting efforts that strengthen communities, improve lives, and promote education and the development of children and young people.  Our goal is to empower individuals to lead better lives.

Additionally, we aim to assist the education and career development of young people pursuing a future in the construction industry.

Together, we can help build a brighter future for everyone.

I wanted to extend enormous gratitude to the Sweeney family for your support. Having access to such a generous fund has really meant that our support has been limitless! You have no idea how inspiring it has been for our practitioners to be able to think of the possibilities first rather than worrying about the finances. The creativity of the team has ever-expanded and the Noel Sweeney Foundation fund has really given us the motivation to keep expanding our offer and find new ways to inspire more families.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Christmas Lights - Annual Event

For many years, we have proudly supported the residents of Chasetown in transforming the High Street into a festive Christmas wonderland. With Santa and his elves, seasonal stalls, and live music filling the air, the event brings the community together for a truly magical evening.

Nothing gave Noel Sweeney greater joy than seeing his beloved Chasetown High Street bustling with families, friends and festive cheer.

Supporting local charity events

We actively encourage our employees to support the activities of the Noel Sweeney Foundation and we are proud to support their fundraising challenges and match fund their efforts.

TARA Group ride

Tara Group Ride London-Essex 100

A group of employees took part in Ride London, cycling 100 miles from London to Essex to raise funds for the brilliant charity Sense, raising £10,000.

Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

A team from across the group took on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks — a 24-mile (38.6km) round trip, and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent coupled with some seriously unpredictable weather.  This was a gruelling challenge from start to finish, but the team absolutely smashed it and raised some much needed funds on behalf two local charities: Suicide & Co and Burntwood Be a Friend.

London Marathon 2025

London Marathon 2025

A team from across the group took part in the London Marathon, completing the gruelling 26.2 miles on one of the hottest days of the year.  Between them they raised an incredible £14,000 on behalf of our charity partner, Sense.

Tara Group Canal Walk

An enthusiastic team from across the group completed a gruelling 35km walk along the canal from Chasetown to Birmingham, raising money and awareness for two incredible charities doing vital work in our communities, Suicide & Co & Burntwood Be a Friend.

  • Suicide & Co supports people bereaved by suicide. Losing someone to suicide can be an incredibly isolating and misunderstood experience. This charity provides grief counselling, a helpline, and essential resources for those navigating life after such a loss. They work to break the silence around suicide, remove stigma, and ensure no one has to go through the journey alone.
  • Burntwood Be a Friend is a local community group committed to tackling loneliness and isolation, especially among the elderly and vulnerable. Burntwood Be a Friend connects volunteers with people in need of companionship, whether it's through friendly visits, phone calls, or community activities. Their work fosters inclusion, kindness, and support where it's needed most.

As a group, they collectively walked 1,500 miles and over 3 million steps, raising an incredible £8,912.63.

Sahara Trek

We’re so incredibly proud to celebrate our amazing colleagues from Chasetown Civil Engineering, who completed an epic 100km trek across the Sahara Desert in support of DKMS UK (Blood Cancer Charity).  Over five challenging days, the team faced blistering heat, tough terrain, and endless sand dunes — pushing through sore feet, emotional highs and lows, and long days under the scorching sun.  This was more than just a trek — it was a mission to help fight blood cancer, where every £40 raised adds another potential life-saving donor to the DKMS register.

Warwickshire Ultramarathon

Tara Group’s HSE Manager took part in the Warwickshire Ultramarathon, some 40 miles, raising £1,700 for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
