Spark aims to improve opportunities, life chances and wellbeing for families with young children. It developed as a grassroots project in Burntwood with pioneering peer-support programmes, providing personalised, inclusive and varied services for families. It includes employment, education, and volunteering, training and one-to-one support; led by the needs of those who truly benefit from the project.

SPARK, Burntwood
Ben Sharp came to visit Spark and find out all about what we do and our plans and visions for improving the lives of local children and families. When he saw our very tired (or well loved!) courtyard and the plans we had for making a great play area - Ben knew this was the area Keon could really help. Ben came up with the mad idea of cycling for 24 hours to raise funds for Spark! The team were amazing and there was a fun and healthy competition between the three teams of cyclists.
They raised a fantastic amount which was then match funded by the Noel Sweeney Foundation and Keon Homes Limited totalling £14,546 - which means Spark can now go ahead with a new play area - and we've asked our children and families to help design it.
A big thank you to Ben Sharp, the cyclists, Keon Home and the Noel Sweeney Foundation team, and all who sponsored and supported this event to raise such a fantastic amount.
Our new play area will be used by over 1,200 local families each year so it will really be well loved and utilised by local children.
On 11th July 2023, the Tara Group delivered its first Charity Golf Day in partnership with the Noel Sweeney Foundation, held at the fantastic JCB Golf & Country Club in Uttoxeter. Almost 50 key stakeholders joined on the day which included a game of golf, various activities, a bbq dinner, a raffle and an auction.
Thanks to the generosity of our guests that attended, we are delighted to have raised an incredible amount of £12,000 for Spark Burntwood. Spark Burntwood are a charity that support the local community in Burntwood, focusing on supporting children and parents through things like playgroups or community events. We’re really proud of how successful this first event was and look forward to delivering next year’s golf day and future events in partnership with the Foundation to raise awareness and funds for our fantastic causes and charity partners.
